Can robots create art?

#artificialintelligence

"Creativity is intelligence having fun." – Albert Einstein These days, artificial intelligence (AI) is being applied to nearly every aspect of our working lives. Creatives, however, have been mostly left alone because, after all, a robot can't create art, can it? As it turns out, there's more AI experimentation going on in artistic fields than you'd think, and it's on its way to making the lives of marketers, designers, journalists and advertising people easier. From the automation of monotonous everyday tasks to true autonomy, where robots may one day create their own artworks, AI is changing what it means to be creative and challenging concepts we thought were intrinsically human. Defining what we mean by'creativity' is a tall order.

Can Robots Create Art?

Because we are enthusiastic about both science and art, we thought of combining them together. That's why the Robot Artist was born! Inspired by human artists' painting behavior, we endowed the Robot Artist with the ability to create colorful artworks based on the visual feedback system. The Robot Artist can use only five basic colors (cyan, magenta, yellow, white and black) to mix a variety of colors. We also introduce the underpainting, which is an artistic technique often used in oil painting, into our painting process.

As robots create art, can they replace humans?

Writers fret about many things. In fact, agonizing over something, anything, is a writer's natural state, a condition that can feed the muse but also kill inspiration. Writers worry about writing, of course -- the quality and the quantity, the rhythm of the words and the structure of the piece. We worry about the publishing industry. And now we have to worry about automation.
